What to expect

Sunday mornings

The service is quite simple. It starts at 11am and lasts about 1 hour. A steward at the door will give you a bulletin which includes on it an outline of what will happen during the service and some details of events happening that week.

The service includes a mixture of hymns, songs, prayers, an opportunity to give financially to the church’s work, Bible readings, a short talk to the children, and a sermon for adults. The children join with the rest of the congregation for the first 15 minutes of the service, and then leave for their own age-specific activities. The sermon usually lasts around 20-25mins, and is, most often about a specific Bible passage. Our aim is to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. So we try to understand the Bible and how that applies to our lives. If you missed a sermon, you can download it from our resources menu. Very occasionally we have a question time after the sermon when people can quiz the speaker.

Sunday Club

Sunday Club is the children’s programme that runs alongside the Sunday morning 11am service. Children from ages 3 and up join with the rest of the congregation for the first 15 minutes of that service, then leave for their own time of learning in the church halls. Sunday Club is run by a keen group of leaders who belong to the church family. As with the adult service, its aim is to encourage our children to follow Jesus wholeheartedly in their homes, schools, and among their friends.

Crèche

Crèche is for children for ages 0-3, and runs alongside the Sunday morning 11am service. We encourage parents to bring their babies and toddlers into the main service for the first 15mins, and then, if necessary, take them into the crèche. Parents are free to leave their children with crèche leaders.

B&B

B&B (it stands for Bible and Breakfast) is a weekly Bible Study for teenagers and college students every Sunday morning. It meets from 10.15am in the church Annex (the house beside the main church building). It includes breakfast! Apart from providing food for your body, it gives you food for your soul. So we talk about how the Bible applies to our lives, as we aim to follow Jesus in our homes, school, college and among our friends. The teenagers who go to Porridge generally come along to the 11am service, to meet with the rest of the church family.

All our children’s and youth activities aim to follow stringent child protection guidelines, as outlined by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
